COMPARE — RII.LINK VS REBRANDLY

The Rebrandly alternative
built for what happens after the click.

Rebrandly makes the domain the product — a marketplace of extensions, agency workspaces, pixels on every link. rii.link makes the link itself the product: it routes, splits, falls back and answers machines. Every claim below is dated and checkable — including the ones we lose.

01THE VERDICT

Same table stakes, different product.

No winner declared. Both do branded domains well — that part is settled. Match what you need after the domain to a column; the rest of the page is the evidence.

EIGHT DECISIVE BULLETS, NO WINNER DECLARED — MATCH YOUR CONSTRAINTS AND GO

02WHY TEAMS PICK RII

Three differences that survive scrutiny.

Routing goes deeper here

Rebrandly’s dynamic routing is real — device, location, language, dates, up to five rules per link by their own docs. Ours stacks unlimited rules with explicit priorities, A/B splits and required fallbacks. The difference is depth, not existence.

rules per link: unlimited vs ~5 · fallbacks: yes vs none

A link that answers machines

Every Rebrandly link resolves as a redirect — routing rules included. Here the same short URL returns JSON, HTML or XML by content negotiation: one link for people, apps and agents.

response formats: 4 vs 1 (redirect)

Unmetered beats an allowance

Every Rebrandly tier meters new links monthly — 3,500 even at $99/mo — and counts clicks against a second, separate analytics ceiling. Our links are unmetered from €19/mo, and traffic is never metered at all — no click ceiling on any plan.

links/mo at $99: 3,500 · here at €19: unmetered

04THE HONEST LINK CARD

Same page. Same preview. One different pixel.

Two unfurls of the same URL, as a chat app renders them. The title, image and description come from the page’s own OG tags — identical twice. The only thing that changes is the domain, and it’s the line people check before they tap.

Two link previews with identical images, titles and descriptions; the first shows the default short domain rii.link/x8f2, the second shows a branded domain go.acme.com/launch — the domain is the only visible difference.

DEFAULT SHORT DOMAIN
YOUR DOMAIN

To be fair: branded domains are Rebrandly’s home turf — a marketplace of 500+ extensions, ten domains on their Growth tier. This section isn’t a scoreboard row. It’s the argument for using one anywhere: the domain is the only credential a link carries.

05COST OF SCALE

Two meters, both ticking.

Every Rebrandly tier meters new links monthly and counts clicks against a second, separate analytics ceiling. Links past the allowance wait for next month; clicks past the cap keep flowing but stop being counted. Their pricing page, verified this week.

06MIGRATION

The domain moves in an afternoon. The rules get better.

STEP 01

Export from Rebrandly

CSV of links and click data via their export and API. Domains bought through their marketplace are yours at the registrar level — they move with you, no ransom.

their tooling · domains stay yours [1]
STEP 02

Import at rii

Bring the CSV. Slugs are recreated on your domain where they’re free; collisions get flagged for your review — never silently renamed. Routing rules don’t import: they get rebuilt in a deeper model.

links: imported · rules: rebuilt
STEP 03

Re-point your surfaces

One DNS record per domain, then swap bios, ads and QR artwork as you touch them. Run both platforms in parallel until the cutover is boring.

no flag day · run both in parallel
WHAT DOESN’T COME ACROSS — SO YOU HEAR IT FROM USRULES: REBUILT, NOT IMPORTED

Click history stays your archive on their side — analytics here start at cutover, no backfill. Routing rules don’t map one-to-one, because ours is a different, deeper model — plan an afternoon to rebuild the ones that matter. And Rebrandly’s workspace-per-brand structure becomes team seats here, a restructure rather than a mirror. Naming the friction is cheaper than you discovering it.

07WHERE REBRANDLY WINS

Where Rebrandly is the stronger choice.

Printed in the heaviest ink on the page, on purpose. Rebrandly is an Irish company with a mature, domain-first product — if these are your constraints, it’s the right call.

CONCESSION 1 / 6

Domain marketplace & breadth

Buy from 500+ extensions without leaving the product, with a .bio domain bundled even on the free tier [2]. We ask you to bring your own.

CONCESSION 2 / 6

Retargeting pixels

Up to five ad-platform pixels on a link — Facebook, Google, X, LinkedIn — building audiences from click traffic [2]. We don’t offer this at all.

CONCESSION 3 / 6

Agency-scale workspaces

A workspace per client brand, bulk editing, teammate roles, a dedicated agencies package [2]. Our team seats are a simpler model.

CONCESSION 4 / 6

MCP onboarding, assistant by assistant

Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT and Copilot each get a first-party setup guide [2]. Ours is live for any MCP client, but their per-assistant onboarding is more polished today.

CONCESSION 5 / 6

Certifications in hand

SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and CCPA on Enterprise, today [4]. Our SOC 2 is in progress, and we don’t claim a date.

CONCESSION 6 / 6

Category maturity

A purpose-built branded-link product with years of agency go-to-market behind it. We split our focus between developers and marketers, and it shows in their favor here.

08SWITCHING FAQ

The questions people actually ask mid-switch.

No. Marketplace domains are yours at the registrar level; only the DNS record needs re-pointing. That’s the whole move for the domain itself.

Not automatically — and we’d rather tell you than surprise you. Our routing model is deeper (unlimited priority-ordered rules, A/B splits, required fallbacks), so rules are rebuilt rather than field-mapped. Most estates rebuild the rules that matter in an afternoon.

It stays exportable from Rebrandly as your own archive — CSV or API. Analytics here start counting from cutover; we don’t backfill historical clicks and won’t pretend otherwise.

Not as a mirror. rii.link uses team seats rather than per-brand workspaces; Enterprise offers unlimited seats. Plan a restructure, not a copy — and if the workspace model is load-bearing for your agency, section 07 already told you to stay.

No — run both in parallel. The free tier (100 active links, a custom domain) is enough to validate the cutover on real traffic before you commit to anything.

Theirs: clicks always redirect, but analytics stop counting past a per-tier ceiling — 10,000 a month on the $11 plan. Ours: there is no ceiling — clicks are counted for your dashboard on every plan, never against a quota, and links always resolve. Same redirect honesty; we dropped the second meter.

Reread section 01. If the marketplace, the pixels, the agency workspaces or certifications-in-hand are your constraint, pick Rebrandly with our blessing. For links that need to decide: rii.link.

09KEEP COMPARING

This dossier has siblings.

Same format, same sources discipline, same concessions section — different competitor.

NO FLAG DAY REQUIRED

Keep the domain. Upgrade the link.

Your domain re-points with one DNS record — marketplace-bought or not. Import the links tonight, rebuild the rules that matter in a deeper model, and run both until the cutover is boring. The free tier takes the first hundred links.
